Who is Sora?

Sora is the only female in the litter, and from very early on she seemed fully aware of this. She is the loudest kitten when handled, the most persistent when she wants something, and the first to attempt climbing anything that looks like it might be climbable. She was named Sora — sky in Japanese — for her attempts to scale the walls of the playpen almost before her eyes were fully open.

She has been rivals with Duke from the beginning, competing for position at feeding time with an intensity that seemed disproportionate to her size. She plays hard with Clyde, who is the only sibling who truly matches her energy. She is, without question, fully aware of her surroundings at all times — a cat who misses nothing.

Named for her early attempts at climbing the playpen. Would probably excel at rock climbing if she were a human.

What to Expect

High & Vocal

Sora is not a background cat. She is present, expressive, and will let you know when she has opinions about things, which is often. She is the loudest of the litter when handled.

Curious & Engaged

She’s alert, watchful, and fully aware of her surroundings. Well-socialized from week two doesn’t shy away, she engages. Interactive play will be important to her in any home.

Needs a Match

Sora would definitely need a companion. She and Clyde play at the same frequency. Duke gives her the competition she seems to enjoy. A solo cat setup is not recommended for her.

Active & Interactive

Sora would thrive in an engaged, active home with a sibling to match her energy. The kind of adopter who wants a cat that participates in household life rather than observing from a distance.
